Nia is a Master's student from Raleigh, North Carolina. Her research focuses on media representations from a critical cultural lens. 

Before attending University of Illinois, Nia received her Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communication with a concentration in Cinema Studies from Hampton University.

In her free time, Nia enjoys baking, trying new coffee shops and catching up on the latest television shows. Nia is always exploring new ways to understand and engage with the world around her through scholarship and service.
